Pastor Charles Callahan
Pastor Callahan was born in Columbus, Ohio and joined the United States Army in 1978. After completing Basic Training and three years at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Pastor Callahan separated from the Army and went back to Ohio. There he met and married his wife, Susan. Pastor Callahan reentered the Army in 1982 and was stationed in Germany in 1984. During their time in Germany his wife felt a great desire to go to church. So, in May of 1986, they packed up their daughter Heather and set off to church. After trying the local chapel, they attended Lahn Baptist Church and there, for the first time, heard a clear presentation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For the first time, they understood who Jesus was and what He had done for them. On 29 May 1986, both Pastor Callahan and Susan accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and immediately started serving the Lord. Pastor Callahan was called into the ministry that same year and preached his first message in August of 1986. They were both baptized together and have been serving Him together ever since. In 1995 while stationed at Fort Polk, LA, God called Pastor Callahan to the mission field of Japan. He retired from the Army in 1999 and arrived in Japan on 4 April 2002. After almost twenty years serving in Japan, God called them back to America in 2021. While serving at Chesapeake Baptist Church, God allowed Pastor Callahan to fill the pulpit at Diamond Springs Baptist Church from September 2024 until he was called as Pastor in March 2025.
